HET Distress

This survey examines how assistive technologies shape the daily lives of people with disabilities. Specifically, it addresses the following question: How do the use and maintenance of assistive technologies affect your perceived daily stress?
In the questionnaire, these assistive devices are grouped under the term “HET” (Human Enhancement Technology).
The survey is anonymous, voluntary, and takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Thank you very much for participating!

There are 38 questions in this survey.
This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.

Dear Participants,

As part of my bachelor’s thesis, I would like to ask you to participate in a short (anonymous) survey.

The principal investigator and project leader is Daniel Stigler,

stiglerd@hu-berlin.de.

The goal of this survey is to determine how the use of human enhancement technologies to compensate for disabilities affects users’ perceived daily stress.

To keep this from taking up too much of your time, it should take about 15 minutes to complete.

Survey Data Processing: The survey is conducted online using the LimeSurvey survey tool on the servers of Humboldt University of Berlin. LimeSurvey uses anonymous survey settings. Your identity cannot be determined from your responses. Please do not provide any personally identifiable information, even in free-text fields. If such information is provided nonetheless, it will not be used; information in free-text fields that allows conclusions to be drawn about your identity or that of others will be deleted or redacted before analysis. Your information will be processed confidentially and only for the specified research purpose. The survey data is analyzed in an anonymized and aggregated form, so that no individuals can be identified in the results.

Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal: Your participation is voluntary. You may withdraw your consent at any time by exiting the survey and closing the browser window. Your data will then be deleted immediately. Regardless of this, your data will be deleted no later than February 28, 2027. You will not face any disadvantages for not participating or for exiting the survey. Once you have completed the survey and submitted your responses, you can no longer withdraw your consent, as your responses are stored anonymously and can no longer be linked to you.

Thank you very much for your cooperation!

I am supported in matters of data protection by the Data Protection Officer at Humboldt University of Berlin (datenschutz@uv.hu-berlin.de), whose guidance I have taken into account.
