Excellent supervision makes all the difference. With the HU Doctoral Supervision Award, the Humboldt Graduate School annually honors outstanding supervisors for their exceptional commitment to supporting doctoral researchers.

This award is more than just recognition – it’s about encouraging best practices, making role models visible, and fostering a culture of high-quality supervision. Your nomination helps set standards and inspire others to invest in thoughtful, respectful, and empowering doctoral supervision.
Did you defend your dissertation in 2025 or are you in the final phase of your doctorate and expected to submit your thesis in 2026? If your supervisor has made a lasting impact on your academic journey – through guidance, encouragement, and professional support – we invite you to nominate her/him!
To submit your nomination, please complete the form below and make sure to click "Submit Nomination" by July 15, 2026. Nominations received after the deadline cannot be considered.
The selection will be based on your scores, written comments, and your personal statement. This statement allows you to bring together your feedback and examples from the form in a meaningful narrative. The personal statement may be decisive for the final selection. The HGS Council will review all nominations anonymously.
