Hybrid teaching across borders: from ideas to practice

Join a hands-on, cross-institutional, dynamic workshop to explore what it takes to teach successfully in hybrid formats – and experience hybrid learning from the student’s perspective.

About the workshop

Hybrid teaching –the simultaneous teaching of students located in a physical classroom and those joining online – is becoming increasingly relevant, especially in the context of transnational education and European university alliances. But what does good hybrid teaching look like? And how can we ensure that all learners—online and on-site—feel equally involved? In this interactive two-part workshop, you will explore key concepts and tools for hybrid teaching, reflect on your own experiences, and develop a hybrid teaching scenario for your own course. You will connect with educators from across the Circle U. alliance and experience hybrid learning firsthand in a supportive, well-designed environment.

Don’t miss this chance to gain practical skills, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections that will boost your teaching across borders.

What to expect

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Explore key concepts and models around hybrid teaching and learning
  • Experience hybrid teaching as a participant in both online and on-site formats
  • Discover tools and strategies for creating engaging and inclusive hybrid learning environments
  • Collaborate with peers across Europe in interactive breakout sessions and find partners for joint projects
  • Receive input on support structures and practical guidance from Circle U. universities

Who should attend

This workshop is designed for university instructors from all disciplines and educational developers within Circle U. alliance and their partners. Instructors from other universities who are curious about hybrid formats and want to build practical teaching strategies for transnational settings are also welcome to register. Whether you’re new to hybrid formats or looking to refine your approach—this workshop is for you!
